Tips from the Experts
As Recreation Director at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa, Tom Smith covers a lot of ground. The resort has an equestrian center, a sporting clays course, skiing, an adventure center, an off-road driving club, and about 75 more activities that keep guests coming back to the resort year after year. Most of these activities encompass the 2,000 acres in the Laurel Highlands. "Our team makes their living being outside at Nemacolin. The last thing we need is anything that is uncomfortable next to our bodies," says Smith.

"When we're making snow, we're walking all over this mountain checking each snow gun. To make really great snow like we do at Mystic Mountain, you have to be in the snow. It can't be too wet, but sometimes it is. That means going back through the wet snow to adjust the snow gun. And back out to the snow for another check. The last thing a snowmaker needs is wet feet. We just don't have the time to stop and change boots. That's why we use Danner boots. They keep us dry on those long cold winter nights.

The great thing about Danner boots is that when summer comes, they work just the same. The mud and wetness of the trails are our enemies, too. We operate the only resort Hummer Driving Club and, believe me, Hummers get stuck. Our guides have to get out and recover the vehicle, and then return to the vehicle to assist our guests in the off-road driving. The last thing a guide wants is wet feet when riding shotgun. The mud is unforgiving and can really ruin the day. We've seen some nasty mud holes, but our Danner boots can handle any of them.

We work hard. We play hard. We have to trust our feet to a reliable boot--our choice is Danner."
